Shackled on U.S. Flights! Heartbreaking Tale of Deported Indians: A US Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft carrying 104 Indians deported from America landed at Amritsar airport on Wednesday. One of these deportees, Jaspal Singh, said that he and other deportees were handcuffed and shackled during the entire journey.

Jaspal Singh, 36, a resident of Hardorwal village in Gurdaspur district, said that he was caught by the US border patrol after crossing the US border on January 24. A US military aircraft carrying 104 illegal immigrants from different states landed here on Wednesday. This is the first batch of Indians sent back by the Donald Trump government as part of the action against illegal immigrants.

He said that he was detained for 11 days in the US and then sent back to India. Of these deportees, 33 are from Haryana and Gujarat, 30 from Punjab, three each from Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, and two from Chandigarh. These include 19 women and 13 minors.

The deportees said that they were taken through illegal means to reach the US. They said that they had to pass through many countries and faced many difficulties.
